From left Mike Golden - Mr. Ed King - Johnathan Golden Many tears have been shed by Mike of Band In My Hand while turning a beloved
Skynyrd record into a fashionable purse but in this photo he was all smiles. We
had the great honor of meeting Mr. Ed King and his wonderful wife Sharon while
they passed through the delta. We met up at a coffee shop in Greenville Mississippi called the Delta Grind in early February 2006. Mere words can not express the excitement and nervousness we felt on our way to meet the legend of southern rock. Mr. King is a really down to earth man that does not let his celebrity effect him. He is a completely down to earth, friendly guy that you could easily spend hours talking to. Johnathan was beside himself, feeling slightly out of place in an adult location, he was itching to break out singing "Sweet Home Alabama"! Mr. King was extremely gracious signing autographs and posing for pictures. The visit was truly a memorable experience that will not soon be forgotten. Our deepest regards and gratitude go out to both Mr. & Mrs. King for sharing their time and company with us. With the friendship and support of Ed & Sharon Band In My Hand has grown into
a successful family business we are proud to own. Their friendship means the
world to us. Even now our hearts still flutter when the caller id lights up and
displays that Sharon is on the line. Johnathan, the future of BIMH, proudly
exclaims, "Hey that's Mr. Ed playing that song!" when he hears Sweet Home
Alabama come on the radio around his friends. He one day hopes to follow in Ed's
footsteps to become a serious guitar player. |
